Janelle Shakespeare started the business with her husband Jeff in 1976.

Janelle has been a longstanding Rotarian and is the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow International Rotarian Award.
Janelle is also the joint founder and Chair of the Hunter Children’s Research Foundation which has raised over two million dollars to help support researchers addressing childhood disease and illness. More recently Janelle has recently been awarded the Order of Australia due to her outstanding achievement and service with her charity work.
